Reclaim

Title: Reclaim
Series: A Redemption Novel
Author: Marley Valentine
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 29, 2018
Cover Artist: PopKitty Design
Unlike most eighteen year olds, I had the weight of the world on my young shoulders. Desperate to do right by my family, my questionable choices led me to the pits of hell.
Steel bars, three meals a day and no contact with the outside world; regret consumed my every thought. Desperate to pay my penance, forgiveness and a happily ever after wasn’t the plan.
But there she was.
Warm, passionate and unexpected, Emerson Lane was the light at the end of the tunnel. She was all a man like me could want and everything I didn’t deserve.
Redemption wasn’t something I thought I would ever find. Until she found me.
Prologue
The metal rubs roughly against my skin, cutting deep into my wrists, as forceful hands press into the middle of my back, urging me forward.
My feet shuffle around the splattered blood decorating the tiled floor, and my eyes wander over the mess I’m leaving behind.
What have I done?
Stepping outside, I’m welcomed by the flashing strobed of red and blue lights, and the prying eyes of everyone I’ve ever known.
Staring. Questioning. Judging.
I keep my head down, willing myself to wake up from this horrible nightmare. Praying that my irresponsible choices didn’t just take away my whole family. With each step I take the sound of gunshots bouncing off the walls echoes through my mind. Mixed with the memory of Sasha’s blood curdling screams, and I know I’m destined to be haunted by this moment forever.
“Ma’am you’re going to have to move out of the way.” The officer’s stern voice has me looking up. I wondered if I would see her before they took me away. She stands before me, leaning on the police car. Her tears are uncontrollable, and her shoulders shake in grief. If a broken heart had a face, hers would be it.
I step closer, and let all the regret, the confusion and the ultimate betrayal linger between us.
“I’m so sorry.” I say, my voice hoarse and broken.
The second the words leave my mouth, her body stiffens. I know their inadequate. She straightens her back, and wipes her face; ridding herself of her vulnerability.
“Sorry?” She spits out in a question. “I hope you fucking burn in hell.”
My head hangs in defeat, knowing those gates are open wide and ready to welcome me.
I feel his disappointment before I see him. “Sasha, the ambulance is making its way to the hospital. Dakota needs you.” My brother Hendrix stares at me like he’s noticing me for the first time. Wondering what he missed, and how we got here. Shaking his head he leaves me behind, and follows his future.
“Drix,” I call out. His shoulders rise and fall at the sound of my voice. “I know how important she is to you. Take care of them for me, you’ll do a better job than I ever could.”
My request scratches the surface of our unspoken thoughts. Guilt swims in my veins and regret cinches my heart. There isn’t a life around me I haven’t touched and stained, and the pain etched on all their faces is tangible proof.

This is the only thing I’ll be remembered for.

Scarred

Title: Scarred
Series: Naughty Ever After #3
Author: Trista Jaszczak
Genre: Twisted Fairytale / Erotic Romance
Release Date: February 28, 2018

Who could ever learn to love a beast?…

Eric Morris had his priorities straight. Money, motorcycles, and models. That is until a motorcycle accident leaves him permanently scarred and angry with the world. He finds comfort in isolation, refusing to leave his own home for fear of what the world will think of the once beautiful man. With working beginning to pile up he has no choice but to hire a personal assistant to cater to his every need, including taking the force of his attitude. What he doesn’t realize is that Elle Davis is not like other women and she fully intends on putting Eric right into his place. Will Eric be able to make her see through his scars…will he be able to change for her?

SCARRED
I feel my mouth drop open slightly as I gawk at him. Makes me wonder what he’s talking about and if I can be nosey and pry just for a bit. I just have no idea what to say. I continue to stare with a slightly open mouth as I rock back and forth on my bare feet. I feel a chill run down my spine that makes me shiver and I immediately pull the white robe around me tighter. I watch Eric as he swallows and drags his hand down his face. He looks up at me with a pout.

“I think I’m still trying to figure out why I had the accident. I certainly didn’t plan it. It just…” His voice fades off and he shakes his head. “I should have died that day.”

I give my head a little shake. “It wasn’t your time.”

“Do you really believe that?”

I chew on my lip softly for a second as I think things over and finally give a little nod. “I do. Clearly you weren’t meant to die on that road that day, Eric.”

He moves closer to me, so close that I can feel warmth radiating off his body. Another chill rushes down me and I hug myself tighter. I look up at Eric who is staring intently at me. “What did Lucian do to you?”

“It just didn’t work out.” I shrug. “We tried, he…I just wasn’t right for him.”

“He wasn’t right for you, you mean?” I feel the blast of warm air and smell of peppermint of his breath.

I feel my body give a little shudder as Eric seems to lean a little closer to me. I can hear each breath he takes as he begins to study me again. I keep my eyes forward, a little nervous to look him in the eyes. I stare ahead at his neck and begin counting his heartbeat as I see each pulse throb…one, two, three, four, five….

“I’m just trying to figure you out.”

I giggle. “There’s nothing to figure out.”

“I’m willing to bet that there’s a lot more to you than you let on.” He tells me pushing my hair off my shoulder.

I shake my head. “I really hate to disappoint you. I’m pretty much an open book.”

His lips twist up at the corners. “An open book, huh?”

I take a deep breath in and smell nothing but the sweet peppermint from his mouth. He’s standing incredibly close and I hadn’t noticed him take a step forward.

“If you’re such an open book then why don’t you tell anyone what Lucian did to you?”

My mouth drops. What exactly is he trying to get out of me? The fact that I fell a little too hard and fast for Lucian and ended up having him crush my heart? I’d rather not take a trip down memory lane, thank you very fucking much.

“Elle,” Eric’s voice grows soft as he leans down very slowly.

I look into his eyes. I can’t think. I can’t speak. The smell of peppermint is intoxicating. My surroundings become blurry. I part my lips slowly and I feel my eyes begin to close.

“Eric.” Lucian’s voice makes me gasp and jump back as he walks into the room. “I just wanted to see if you were finished.”

I step away from Eric, slightly shaken up, and a little confused. I cross my arms and take a very deep breath. I release it slowly and count to five to relax myself. Eric turns and gives Lucian a nod as he seems a little distraught himself. “Just finished.”

“I…I should get dressed.” I say, looking at Eric who is running a hand through his hair as Lucian is telling him that he can have the proofs ready in a few hours if needed. Eric gives him a little nod, but his head turns to me.

“Did you have a good shoot, Elle?” I hear Lucian’s voice and even though I understand that he is talking to me I can’t take my eyes off Eric.

Eric smiles. “Did you have a good shoot, Elle?” He repeats, looking back at Lucian who is staring at us both like we’re crazy.

I shake out of the haze of peppermint and Eric’s blue eyes to nod. “It was great. I really hope they like the photos.”

“She was stunning,” Eric adds. “They’ll blow everyone away.”

Lucian raises his eyebrows and cocks his head slightly. “Alright, well…I can’t wait to see them. I bet they’re great.”

“I’m really cold…I’m just going to get dressed.” Eric and Lucian both give me a nod and as I walk away I can feel their eyes on me. I have no clue what just fucking happened. I feel…a little panicked to be quite honest. I nearly kissed Eric. Or…did Eric almost kiss me? I have no idea. My heart is still pounding at the thought. I swear to God…looking in his eyes is just like being charmed by a snake who is about to eat you. Completely unaware of anything around you except him. And that…is terrifying.

Mason Foxworth has spent the last several months recovering from injuries he received doing personal security while on tour during the horrific fire in Germany. He feels useless and alone, and the worst part of it, the physical scarring left behind from the burns has ruined his self-esteem. Who would want him now, when he is so damaged inside and out and has nothing much to contribute? He doesn’t have many friends and his co-workers feel it’s safer to keep Mason at a desk in the office pushing paperwork, rather than out in the field working security. Mason wants to change that status before he loses the last thread of his sanity, and the main obstacle in his way is a bum leg that’s taking far too long to heal.

Tessler is an enigma in the sci-fi literary world. A young, reclusive author, known for the mystery swirling around him, realizes he’s lost any real joy in his life until he suddenly starts to feel the strange emotion pumping through his veins. Barely beyond the age of twenty-five, and he’s already made more money than most see in a lifetime, but Tessler feels empty inside. What made him this way must remain the secret it is, or he feels he’ll lose the empire he’s created. But meeting a man who could possibly bring all his pieces together is challenging his reasons for anonymity, and Tessler suddenly finds himself wanting more from life and for himself.

Mason wants his life back and Tessler is just looking to have a real life. Can two vastly different men find a way to smooth out their hard edges and blend their lives to offer the one ingredient neither has? Personal growth comes in many different shapes and Mason and Tessler have a mountain of it to climb in order to find their HEA, but it’s a journey both of them are ready to take.

Playing Jax

IT’S LIVE!

Rhia McCabe hid under a religious
veil for years. One determined choice changed all that. Disheartened with the
world, and having lost it all—her
faith, her friends, her home—she
must rebuild her life from the ground up. That’s easier said than done. Life
isn’t the peaceful journey she imagined it would be, and her heart has led her
into some very dangerous territory. Will Rhia survive long enough to enjoy her
newfound freedoms, or will falling for a strong, dominant man see her losing
more than either of them imagined?

Steve Jax hates games, especially
when they involve friends trying to interfere in his life. He’d built a decent
existence for himself since his wife Kathy died, and saw no reason to change
anything. Until now. He thought the danger his job imposed on those he loved
was all in the past, giving him the option to move on and love again. How wrong
had he been? Ghosts from four years ago have resurfaced, along with a new
adversary that’s threatening the only woman he’s risked letting into his heart
in years. He may have sworn he’d never endanger another lover – but life isn’t
perfect, and neither is he.

Playing
Jax is a contemporary, romantic suspense novel with a M/F romantic pairing.
This book contains erotic sex scenes with BDSM elements.

(PLEASE DELETE IF NOT REVIEWING)

Steve groaned and resisted the urge to open his eyes. He shivered, the
chill in his bones becoming more evident with each second of wakefulness. He
peeked out between crusty lashes. The sky exposed a hint of the coming day, the
sunrise a glimmer of pink tinting the shoreline.
He sat up. Waves pounded in unison with the throb of his head, as
surfers danced on the crest of waves before him. Unlike the pictures inside his
head, the scene contained a peacefulness that he envied. Kathy had died a month
ago. Treatment failed. They said he’d have her for a maximum of two years—she’d
lasted less than one. He’d dealt with death before—at work, and when his
parents had died—this was different. Kathy took a large piece of him with her,
she’d left with his heart.
Steve stood on shaky legs, gathered the empty bottle of Jack Daniels
nestled into the sand and began the long walk up the hill to the house he’d
shared with his beautiful wife, the home he now hated because she wasn’t in it.
He made it to the stairs leading up to the place he’d once called home
but couldn’t go any further, so he sat down and contemplated his options. Go
inside to the constant reminder of what he’d lost, or sit with the step cooling
his butt. Option two it was.
Steve toyed with the empty bottle knowing he’d sent the companies’
profits into overdrive over the last four weeks. He had to stop, get back to
the man he’d once been, but didn’t know how.
“Why haven’t you been answering your phone? I’ve been worried.” Steve
glanced up to see his sister, Angel, staring back at him with a worried
annoyance filling her expression.
She took the bottle from him and delivered it to the trash.
“Where’s your phone, Steve?” She asked.
“No idea.” He replied, wondering why she’d even bothered to come.
He wanted to appreciate the concern but couldn’t summon the energy to do
so. Angel retrieved her mobile phone from her bag and called a number, staring
at him with one raised brow, as his phone betrayingly responded from inside his
pocket.
Busted.
“Get up and get inside the house.” Angel said, moving toward him and
looking less than impressed. “I need coffee and from the look of you, well, you
get the drift.”
If he didn’t want her to man handle him to get him inside—and she
would—then he had to move. Standing slowly, he turned and led the way, fumbling
through his pockets to retrieve his key. Movement hurt, his body aching from
spending yet another night sleeping anywhere but the bed he’d shared with his
wife. Although, last night, passed out drunk in the sand at his local beach,
had set a new low for him. He saw no end in sight to the depths of his despair.
Lost. That’s what he was without Kathy, and he had no incentive to find
himself. What was the point?
Angel hustled him into the shower, threatening to wash him herself if he
didn’t comply. He suddenly discovered that there were limits to the depths of
humiliation he’d allow, and his little sister showering him was one of them. As
he watched the traces of sand he’d washed from his hair and other crevasses
disappear down the drain, he wondered where he’d end up. He dried himself and
dressed in the clothes Angel had found and placed on the bathroom sink.
Surprisingly they were clean. He didn’t think he had any of those left.
He wandered out into the living room to the smell of breakfast and saw
the pot of strong coffee Angel had made waiting for him on the dining table.
She walked in just as he sat down and placed the feast of bacon, sausage, eggs,
and toast in front of him. He wasn’t hungry but ate it anyway.
“You’re coming back to the Highlands with me. I can’t stand the thought
of you all alone up here slowly killing yourself.” Angel stated.
He wouldn’t argue, because there was no point. For someone a good foot
shorter than him, his sister was a formidable woman. Once she set her mind to
something then changing it took some effort. That was something Steve didn’t
have, and at least if he was in a different location, the reminders of Kathy
wouldn’t plague him every minute of the day.
“So, you’d rather me have an audience while I slowly kill myself?” He
raised his gaze to look at her, Angel met him with a steely glare. Clearly, his
dry attempt at wit didn’t amuse her.
As he finished eating, Angel emerged from the back of the house carrying
a duffel bag and suitcase. She plopped them near the door.
“Christian and Daniel will collect your Harley this afternoon and bring
it back to the house. You have a meeting with Trevor next week, who, in case
you’re wondering, is also worried about you. That gives you seven days to try
and get your head together and make some decisions about what you’re going to
do.”
He already knew what he was going to do. Sulk, drink and continue to
feel sorry for himself.
“Is this where you give me the talk about we all lost Kathy, and that
I’m not the only one to miss her, that everyone is grieving, but I’m the only
one letting it destroy me?” He asked.
Angel crouched down next to him. The compassion and sadness in her eyes
boring into his empty soul.
“I can’t even imagine the pain you feel right now. All I can see is the
result of it and feel the fear that I might lose you because of it. I want to
help you, but I don’t know how, none of your friends do. That’s why I’m taking
you home with me. I want you to know that, despite losing Kathy, there is still
hope. You are loved, Steve Jax, and I
will not lose you. I will not let you
fall any further down this rabbit hole. So, pick up those bags and let’s go
home.”
As he drudged out of the house—for what he knew was the last
time—walking behind the sister he’d not long known, he told himself he was
lucky not to be going through this alone. He had an Angel to help him pick up
the pieces. The sun made his eyes water as he headed to the car, at least
that’s what he told himself. He wished he knew where his shades were, so he
could cover the evidence of his grief, as they drove away, heading toward a
different life.

“If what becomes too much? Minnie…” I tried to grab her hand, but she veered off toward Brick. “I thought it was just an edible, as in pot.”

“Hello again, leather pants.” Rail appeared at my side. “I was wondering when we were going to meet you again.”

Trigger rolled up on his bike. He was in a black t-shirt that hugged his biceps and chest, and dark jeans and boots. His cut seemed a bit tight, a sign he had been working out a lot.

He didn’t remove his sunglasses, but his stare nearly made me trip as I walked over and took the helmet he handed me.

“You look good,” he muttered. “You’ve been missing for the past week.”

“Just dealing with some stuff.”

“I don’t like it.”

“I know.” I flipped my hair back and pulled the helmet on. “Me either.” I swung my leg over the bike and rested my hands on his hips, and he pulled me so I hugged him. He flicked the engine over and backed us out.

An hour later, we hit a wall of traffic and came to a complete stop. That was when I began to notice the leather cut that wrapped Trigger’s midsection was as smooth as lamb skin. As I moved my sensitive fingertips over it, I felt a ball of warmth grow in my belly.

My thighs flexed as Trigger shifted his weight. I didn’t mean to ball his shirt in my hands, but fuck me, everything felt amazing.

“You okay?” His raspy voice caught me off guard, and I jolted on the seat, and oh-my-God, it was amazing. “Tess?”

“Please stop moving,” was all that shot out of my mouth. He flipped up his visor and turned to look at me. I shook my head and moaned as his ass rubbed my front. My jaw clenched, and I started to grind my teeth.

“Put your visor up.”

Oh, shit, don’t get alpha on me. I may lose it right here on the freeway.

I quickly shoved it up and stared into his confused eyes.

“What are you on?”
“Nothing.” I almost moaned when he moved again.
He stared a beat longer before he snapped his visor down and turned back around.
Ohhh, yes. I wanted to tap his shoulder to get him to do that again, but the traffic started to move.
Sweet, horny Lucifer. I’d broken out in a light layer of sweat, and my thighs burned from the grip on the seat. Three hours on the bike, and its vibrations had built me up to a pleasure-painful level. I’d finish myself off if I weren’t surrounded by the crew.

Thankfully, Trigger signaled we were stopping for a break at the next rest stop. We took the exit and rolled up at the light before the small park.

When Trigger kicked his foot out to stabilize us, I grabbed the side of his leg and begged my body to let go.
His hand landed on mine, and I wanted to cry. His touch, his smell, his everything made my world tilt on its axis. I didn’t know how much longer I could hold on.
I was either going to kill someone or have the most mind-blowing orgasm known to woman in public.
The bike slowed to a stop, and he proceeded to wiggle around then slid the length of his leg across me. I tossed my helmet, and my palms dug deep into the hot leather. I felt like I was balancing on the loose rocks that lined edge of my orgasm. I had never not-wanted to come so badly in my life.
My mind shifted to images of Trigger touching me.
Oh, no.
Oh, yes.
Oh, please.
“That’s one major fuck-me face.” Rail burst my steamy moment.

I glared at him, but it did nothing for my problem. “What?”
“Just makin’ an observation.”
“Observate somewhere else.”

“Yeah, you probably need to finish that off.” He wiggled his fingers and winked.
I closed my eyes and managed to channel my thoughts back to being underneath Trigger. His hands on my skin, his lips on my neck, his…
A shadow crossed my face and blocked my warmth. “What did you take?”
A deep jolt tore through me as my mind decided if it he was real or not.
“Please,” I nearly panted. “Don’t talk.” I rubbed my hands down my pants. The leather was warm and sent goosebumps through me.
“What?”

“I’m not entirely sure, as this is the first time I ever took ecstasy, but I think I took ecstasy.”

He blinked “Where did you get E?”

BLURB

I’ll be honest, I half-expected to be fired from my job as a reporter at a newspaper but I didn’t expect to come home to find my boyfriend in bed with his best friend!

During my very public meltdown at a coffee shop, I didn’t expect to bump into the biggest Hollywood star on the planet or have my picture all over the tabloids. I definitely didn’t expect him to tell everyone I was his girlfriend!

Now, I’m in this strange world of Hollywood glitz and glamour all because Ryan Vexler needs to clean up his public image and for some reason, he thinks I’m just the person to do that. What he doesn’t know is that I’m actually a giant train wreck and I’m embarrassed to say that I’m starting to fall for the egotistical bastard.

What reviewers are saying

Hilarious, adorable, and smile-inducing are just some of the ways I can describe Technically Scripted. But the best thing I can say about it is YOU MUST READ IT! I know this will be a definite re-read for me. 5 Stars. Ariadna – Red Hatter Book Blog
